Canada is a large country. Canada perhaps is the only country in the world that is rarely in the news for any controversial issues. It is known to be a peace loving and one of the most preferred countries to migrate to. Being a multicultural society Canada allows you to understand each other and does not encourage hatred and violence. Canada is high on tourist preferred destination itineraries, as it offers a unique peek into its multi-cultural and bio-geographical diversity. It is relatively free from all sorts of discrimination and divide, a fact most Canadians are proud about. EDUCATION SYSTEM

The education system in Canada consists of both Public/community colleges and private schools,career colleges universities and university colleges. Education institutions are accredited and controlled by the provincial laws. Therefore different provinces have different education systems. However, education is very important to Canadians, and all the provinces set high standards across Canada.

Public and Private
Canada\'s education system encompasses public schools, which are free and funded by the government, and private schools, for which students have to pay. At the post-secondary level, public colleges and universities still need students to pay tuition, but it is comprehensively less than tuition at private universities.

Education in Canada is quite affordable for the international students as compared to other countries. Cost of study in Canada is affordable and an International student can expect expenditure ranging from C$11,000-C$15000 for an undergraduate program.

Cost of living is generally range between C$10,000-C$12000 depending upon the life style of the student.

Most of the Canadian colleges/Universities required TOEFL or IELTS score. IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a test mandatory for International students from India for the purpose of study and work Canada. IELTS is conducted almost in every part of the world and is fair to everyone who sits the test, regardless of country of origin, race, nationality etc.

Academic: For higher studies (College/Universities)

General Training: For people who either want to work or migrate to Canada Test of English as a foreign Language is for all international students and immigrants who want to go to Canada. The test is usually a computer base test and is administered worldwide.

International students are required to obtain a Student Authorization and Visa before entering into Canada for studies. Applicants applying for student visa need to apply well in advance from the purposed date of start of their studies.

Work Opportunities Canada

On-Campus during study period
Full-time international and exchange students with a valid Study visa are eligible to work on campus. International students who are enrolled fulltime and are in the good standing with the college can part-time during the college term after 6 months. Off-Campus during study period

Students are allowed to work part time for 20 hours per week after six months of his/her full time study in the college. Students need to apply for work permit to work off- campus.

As per the current post study permit rules the students are eligible for an open work permit up to 3 years* after successful completion of their studies.

Students graduating from a 2 year Diploma or 3 year advance diploma are eligible for 3 years open work permit whereas the students graduating from 1 year diploma are eligible for 1 year open work permit.
